Each step of the production of Sharing Innovative Experiences enhances and promotes knowledge-sharing among its participants within a timeframe not exceeding six to eight months for each volume.
Every activity is carried out through close cooperation among the partners, following the methodology for sharing experiences proposed by WIDE, including:
- preparation of a review paper on the challenges and opportunities for the successful development of the theme in developing countries;
- invitation for nomination of relevant experiences through WIDE, UNDP, SSC Focal Points in countries, UN agencies and other relevant networks;
- selection of nominated cases based on peer review;
- invitation of the selected nominees to produce papers on their experiences;
- invitation of the selected nominees who submitted the papers to present their experiences at an international workshop;
- convening of an international workshop to present and share good practices with invited leading scientists and policymakers from the institutions selected as well as internationally renowned experts, creating a dynamic network on the matter discussed;
- editing and preparation of the papers for publication;
- publication and distribution;
- integration of documented experiences into WIDE for wider dissemination within the South via the Internet.
