SOUTH-SOUTH COOPERATIONThe UNDP Special Unit for South-South Cooperation (SU/SSC), formerly known as the Technical Cooperation Among Developing Countries (SU/TCDC) carries out its mandate to mobilize international support for sustained South-South cooperation for development by:
- encouraging developing countries to become important providers of mutual assistance in multilateral cooperation;
- fostering broad-based public-private partnerships to support South-South initiatives;
- supporting the efforts of the South to pool the vast resources of Southern countries particularly development
- experiences and knowledge, as a means of achieving common development goals; and
- facilitating South-South policy dialogues to bring Southern perspectives and common concerns to the forefront of the international development agenda.
