Meeting of the United Nations Agencies TCDC Focal Points
4 June 2001
|
Following the twelfth
session of the High-level Committee on the Review of
Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (TCDC),
the TCDC focal points of the United Nations
organizations met in New York on 4 June 2001 to review
the decisions of the High-level Committee that were
relevant to the United Nations system and chalk out a
plan for responding to them.
The meeting
participants agreed on the need for greater
collaboration and coordination of efforts to promote
South-South cooperation with a view to contributing more
fruitfully to international development. They also
decided to take up a few tasks more systematically and
remain active until the next meeting of the High-level
Committee in 2003. Major decisions taken included a
review of the revised guidelines relating to policies
and procedures concerning TCDC, finalization of a common
results framework for better reporting on TCDC,
system-wide documentation and dissemination of
